JX18 COVERED IRONING ROLLERS

JX18 is a unique roll covering compound formulated specially for foil mill ironing rolls, and other applications within the metals industry.  It is intended to provide lower bounce and better all around performance than is obtained from the general purpose compounds which have been traditionally used.

JX18 is exceptionally tough, with excellent resistance to abrasion, cuts, rolling oils etc. and the other severe conditions found in the metal rolling and finishing industries.  Special attention was paid to providing JX18 with a particularly low bounce coefficient, giving it much better damping characteristics than traditionally used general purpose compounds.

Applications

JX18 was originally developed for ironing roller applications in aluminium foil rolling mills, where a low bounce coefficient is particularly advantageous.  However, its superior performance has also resulted in its use in other applications such as separator rolls and strip mill ironing rolls for canstock production.
